Some Closing Thoughts
There's math in the world around us; everywhere.

What can be seen as dry curriculum comes alive when we can play with it and when we can find ways to connect it to students personal lives.

Technology, thoughtfully placed in students hands, helps take some of the "grunt work" out of calculation skills and opens the door to curiosity & playing with complex ideas.

One of the great strengths of putting technology into students hands is the insight it provides to what they're thinking. Technology opens the door to sharing student thinking and talking through what they're learning as they learn it. This connects with Dylan Williams 5 Learning Principles:

Start from where the student is.

Learning has to be done by, not for, the students.

Students need to talk about what they're learning.

Students need to know their learning targets and where they stand in relation to them.

Feedback has to provide information on how to improve. (feedforward)
